VOLUME 1 CONTRIBUTORS
Dang Sering co-organized Hand to Hand, launched in this volume. For this special project, she also wrote the collaboration stories of the artists and makers. Dang is a graphic designer, visual artist and writer.
Laura Feltham co-organized Hand to Hand, on behalf of the Manchester Craft and Design Centre. She is currently a Project Coordinator at the MCDC.
Marielle Nadal Reyes conceptualized and co-organized Hand to Hand, and contributed illustrated portraits of the artists and makers. For this volume, she also captured the natural dye making process of Mariton Villanueva in “An Introduction to Natural Dyes,” on photo and video. Marielle is a writer, designer, multi-disciplinary maker, and co-founder of Craft MNL.
Mariton Villanueva shared her step by step process of natural dyeing in “An Introduction to Natural Dyes.” She is a fashion designer and founder of Himaya, a sustainable clothing brand.
Mimi Tiu wrote “Turning Fear Into Purpose,” a profile on creative entrepreneur and maker Mansy Abesamis and how she was inspired to create a pottery community project over the pandemic. A freelance editor and content creator based in the Philippines, Mimi has been working from home since 2016 after a memorable stint in magazine publishing. She is also a Reiki distance healer.
Rex “Da Sig” Aguilar created the various collage illustrations for this volume: the special project “Hand to Hand” and the article “Turning Fear Into Purpose.” He is an artist and illustrator working in traditional and digital processes. Rex is a member of Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan.
